High Sensitivity
The GCMS-QP2010S features the same newly designed ion optics as our best selling GCMS-QP2010.
Maximum Flexibility
Highest flexibility in method development is achieved by the increased mass range from 1.5 to 1090 and the independently heated ion source in a range of 100 to 300 °C, also for compounds with high boiling points and which are difficult to analyze like e.g. brominated flame retardants.
Intelligent software solutions
Unique for Shimadzu: the automatic LRI (Linear Retention Index) calculation gives optimal security for the identification of unknowns from complex samples. Unambiguous results can be achieved by the library search function with integrated LRI. Next to the general purpose NIST 05 library Shimadzu offers a special library for flavours and fragrances (FFNSC Ver. 1.2, Flavour and Fragrances Natural and Synthetic Compounds) with LRI´s.
AART (Automatic Adjustment of Retention Times) identifies and quantifies all compounds automatically after a column change, without compromise in analysis parameters (also with constant linear velocity mode for best chromatographic resolution) – easy and fast!
Fast GCMS: FASST (Fast Automated SIM/Scan Type)
With FASST a new chapter of Fast GCMS is opened by Shimadzu. The GCMS-QP2010 Plus with its fast quadrupole offers the possibility to acquire Scan as well as SIM data on one peak. Quantitation of both data sets is also possible. For quantitative analysis the number of data points on a peak is the mostly important for the quality of the results. With a data acquisition frequency of 50 data points per second in Scan mode and up to 100 in SIM mode data of excellent quality are obtained. The quality of the library search is also determined by the quality of the spectra. Shimadzu with its long experience in Fast GCMS guarantees this highest data quality.
Ionization Techniques
The unique Combi Source for EI, PCI and NCI reduces the down time of your instrument and makes method development easy. EI (Electron Impact) gives classical mass spectra for easy identification of the sample components. In PCI (Positive Chemical Ionization) the molecular weight of the compounds can be determined, indispensable in organic research labs. Negative Chemical Ionization (NCI) gives highest sensitivity for chlorinated contaminants e.g. solvents or pesticides. You can choose your reagent gas according to your needs from methane, iso-butane or ammonia supplied by the 2 ports on the GCMS-QP2010 Plus. Of course all techniques including PCI and NCI are optimized by our well known Autotuning procedure including mass number calibration, independent of the reagent gas you have chosen - no need for any manual adjustment of GCMS parameters.
Easy Maintanance through front door
In the GCMS-QP2010 Plus ion source, filaments and lens system are easily accessible through the hinged door at the front of the instrument, making maintenance procedures like ion source cleaning an easy task. No need to remove the whole analyzer and risk contamination. The new MSnavigator software shows troubleshooting and maintenance procedures step-by-step in pictures. It also automatically gives remedies in case a QA/QC check fails.
