Laboratory scale spray drying of lactose: a review

This study is an extended literature summary of scientificpublications in the field of lab scale spray drying of lactose made on BÜCHI spray dryers.

Spray drying has been intensively studied for pulmonary drug delivery. It has the potential to generate highly dispersible powders in the range from 1 to 5 μm size with appropriate particle morphology.
