The SpeedDigester K-439 is revolutionizing Kjeldahl digestion. It is the only IR digestion system that has an integrated temperature sensor, so that digestion at exact temperatures is achievable. The advantages of IR and block heating systems are now combined. Using modern application software, digestion methods (temperature ramps and time) can be programmed and saved in the database with a method name. The SpeedDigester K-439 also features an LC display which allows the user to observe the progress during a digestion as a graphical display.
The new automatic SpeedDigester K-439 is the first infrared digestion system available on the market with precise temperature control and easy to read graphical display which allows for an easy and automated digestion process and easy to read graphical display.
Outstanding features of the SpeedDigester K-439:
An increased sample throughput is achieved thanks to the considerably higher heat transfer capability of infrared heaters as compared to contact heating sources. In addition, the heat-up and cool-down periods are considerably shortened. As a result, the total time needed for digestion is significantly reduced.
The exact temperature control makes it possible to maintain the set temperature; an aspect that contributes to excellent reproducibility.
The user-friendly operating concept allows for simple programming and operation of the system.
Up to 50 different time / temperature profiles can be stored under individual method names in the database. The 20 most commonly used methods are predefined in the SpeedDigester K‑439 to simplify method development.
Reproducible results are achieved based on excellent and efficient thermal homogeneity for every sample tube due to the innovative isolation plate. The newly designed heating chamber which guarantees that the sample tubes are heated efficiently allows for optimal digestions without foaming.
The SpeedDigester accepts 300 ml as well as
500 ml sample tubes. The 300 ml sample tubes are suitable for Kjeldahl digestions for most samples, whereas the larger sample tubes are especially exciting in the field of environmental analysis since they allow for the use of larger sample volumes.
Safe operation and protection of laboratory equipment thanks to the tightly sealed suction system.
All acid fumes created during digestion are completely exhausted through the attached Scrubber B‑414 which starts and stops automatically.
Thanks to the temperature control, it is now possible for the first time to verify the temperature of an IR digester with an external reference sensor. This allows for IQ/OQ execution.
The digestion process is graphically depicted, including a display of the set and actual temperatures. The three most recent digestion processes can be reviewed via the system’s memory function.
Suction module standard: The mainly used suction module – appropriate for most applications.
Suction module with condensate trap: For aqueous samples – prevents back flow of condensate to the sample.
Suction module for H2O2: For fast H2O2 digestion – Min. 50% reduced processing time compared to conventional digestions, without heavy metal catalyst.
With the H2O2-digestion the processing time is shortened for at least 50%, compared to standard Kjeldahl digestion. H2O2 in precence of sulphuric acid is speeding up the decomposition of organic material and a digestion is completed in about
30 minutes. Furthermore any foaming of samples is avoided. Due to the advantage that no heavy metal catalyst is needed, the application with H2O2 is more environment-friendly .
The suction module wich is especially designed for the addition of H2O 2enables for save addition of peroxide during digestion.
